Goodman’s Interlink Charity Ramp Run Raises HK$ 1 Million for Feeding Hong Kong

Most of Hong Kong’s bustling city goers, long for a relaxing start on Sunday mornings. However, things were different for Goodman Group on the 22nd of March.

When senior managers, business partners, staff, family and friends, met at the group’s flagship property Goodman Interlink, the group of more than 346 runners were there to enter Goodman’s fourth annual Goodman Interlink Magic Mile – the run which climbs the company’s 15 story cargo ramp for around one continuous mile.

慈善跑的起步點

Breakfast and healthy eating was the theme for this year’s charity run, which raised One Million Dollars for ‘Feeding Hong Kong’ – Hong Kong’s first food bank. Funds raised will be used to purchase a 10-ton food delivery truck and to fund 2-years of on-road costs. The truck will be used to deliver surplus bread, and breakfasts to Hong Kong school children with the intention to increase the number of participating schools over time. Goodman staff will also volunteer to collect and deliver food for this charity.

Goodman’s Managing Director for Greater China, Mr. Philip Pearce, told Chit Chat, “Hong Kong’s grassroots charities receive little funding and assistance, which is why Goodman chooses to support the cause.”

“We are immensely proud to be partnering with Feeding Hong Kong and to continue making a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate. Feeding Hong Kong is a charity we believe our fundraising efforts can make a significant difference to, and we fully support the organisation in the terrific work they do,” adds Mr. Pearce.
